INDECISION - From a Nigerian contemporary Artist, CLIFF AGBA

When the river flows, it keeps steady along with its elements and so it is with the creative beings. One may ask, how related is this assertion above. Examining the life and works of Cliff Agba, you will gradually notice the connections between his creative abilities and his personality. An artist whose works are not accidental, but a demuring chronicles of his life encounter. His character encircled humility, trust, hardworking and truthfulness, crossed and balanced in between silence and socialism.

A January born and a deep thinker. He draws inspiration from the people in the society, old women and men, the youth and children and moreover, from spirituality as it relates to his every day life.

In one of his paintings titled "Indecision", he portrayed a young man, half nude, energetically seated on a plane seemed to be "nothingness", and his hands astride his head in a perplexed manner. He went on leaving the fingers unfinished as the same with the feet from the knees downwards.  Focusing more on the upper region of his model, he captured the underlying energy-burning muscles against the dripping waters as noticed on the back and trunk of this model. The background was illusions of turquoise which could be a bathroom setting. The message on this painting remains elixir to the unanswerable questions about today youths and the paths of success.
His experiences when he was about gaining admission into the university, his time as a university undergraduate and his graduation, lingers around this great piece. How true it is that many among youths of today are in puzzle about which way to follow, to the point of becoming escapades to their own will; and yet without a clearer dream.
The painter studied his strokes constructively, and further linked them to the colloquium "faster is slow" as to the "slow and steady wins the race".
He enjoys drawing and painting, reading and meeting people, meditation and exercises. He works with any media he could lay his hands on, ranging from oils, acrylics, pastels, charcoal, graphite, lead, pen, ink and gouache. He is a graduate of Fine and Applied Arts,  Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. A promising and high quality male, who is busy climbing boldly on his stairs to success. He is ever ready to learn, grow and already springing up his noticeable shoots. He is of Anambra state origin.
