AN AFRICAN FASHION GENIUS – AISHA AYENSU

The Christie Brown Collection is a Ghanaian based fashion brand that answers the call by the Ghanaian community for an international approach to fashion design. Christie Brown was
founded in March 2008 by Aisha Ayensu whose love affair for fashion began at an early age, however, the real motivation came from her watching her grandmother Christie Brown, a seamstress, create rich and vibrant garments. As Creative Director of the fashion brand, Aisha Ayensu has produced fascinating designs that have made both her and her brand internationally recognized. In 2009 she won the emerging fashion designer of the year award in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Aisha Ayensu is very passionate about what she does and has vowed to take fashion to new heights in Ghana, all of Africa and the world. As Creative Director she is always coming up with innovative ways to ensure the grown of her brand. Aisha is a graduate from the University of Ghana. After growing tired of getting her designs done by other tailors, she decided to enroll at Vogue Style School of Fashion in Accra to gain some practical insights in Fashion design.
The Christie Brown Collection is a brand that has made a huge impact on the fashion industry in Ghana. The story of Aisha Ayensu is one, which should inspire all up and coming fashion designers to think outside the box and be creative. Some of the Christie Brown Collections include XUTRA, TALENSI, and AFROMANCE just to name a few. Aisha Ayenshu can confidently say that one of her best designs, the Dure collection, has been worn by dancers of the famous hip hop musician Beyoncé during the Mrs. Carter World Tour in 2014.
Aisha has brought an international appeal to African fashion. threesixtyGh strongly believes that the impact she has made is worth celebrating. We support Aisha Ayensu and we encourage her to continue making Ghana proud through her fashion forward designs.
